Based in beautiful Missoula Montana, Retread is a small, sustainability minded, studio. We craft personal goods from locally sourced recycled materials. We aspire to conduct our business in a way that helps create a better world, both locally and globally. To this end, Retread makes the following promises to our customers, employees, vendors, suppliers and the world at large:
- Quality in our products and our business interactions. We craft individual goods out of unique cuts of material, so no two products are exactly the same. Still, we aim to make a product that looks and works as advertised. Therefore, we will repair or replace any product that is defective or wears out in the course of normal use. Furthermore, should you find any of our practices lacking, we will attempt to address the issue quickly and completely.
- Sustainable business practices that nurture and maintain the health of our environment, and our community. Specifically, we use locally sourced recycled materials and local suppliers whenever possible. Moreover, we conduct our business in such a way as to minimize, and ultimately eliminate our carbon footprint. Even our web hosting is sustainable.
- A healthy nurturing work environment. Our employees will be treated with respect and dignity. Their work, ideas, time and health will be valued. All our employees will be compensated with a living wage, and a 10% employee share of net profits.
- Charity. We believe in spreading the wealth, not hoarding it. Therefore we give at least 30% of annual net profits to promote a sustainable and humane world.
